Week 18

Here is the info from the bump for week 18:

Your fetus has become amazingly mobile (at least compared to you), passing the hours yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing. And, baby's finally big enough that you'll be able to feel those movements soon.

and here is me, mid-week last week, might be getting a bit of a belly swell....exciting!

Still feeling the baby every now and then (some bumps and pops), mostly when driving or sitting on the computer at work! Can't wait for Neal to start feeling them, he has tried to listen for the heartbeat with his stethoscope but no luck yet! REALLY looking forward to our big ultrasound.

Our first baby furniture purchase...

Here are pictures of our first baby furniture purchase! We ended up getting the glider and bassinet from the mom of the flower girl in our wedding! Small world.....

It is the perfect color for either girl or boy and we love the bassinet to have the baby sleep in our room the first few months!

We are also getting a beautiful sleigh crib from the mom of the ring bearer in our wedding! I will post pictures when we get that...should be next weekend! We did not think that we would need to clean out the guest room so quickly to make room for baby furniture, but we are so ready and excited!

Weekend fun!

I am bummed Neal is on-call this weekend but I have plans with Daly to see Bride Wars and grab dinner. I am really looking forward to that. Also, I am babysitting my parent's new puppy, Zoe this weekend and it is so fun to have a little puppy around the house. She is helping me to prepare for a little baby, haha! Here are pictures of her with the big puppies, Avery and Tucker. They are getting along pretty well...Avery and Tucker are even sharing their toys with her!

Here she is eating Avery and Tucker's BIG bone!

Playing with Avery and Tucker!

Look at her, so cute!

I even get to dress her up in outfits!

Week 17!

Wow, tomorrow will be 17 weeks! I feel like this pregnancy is flying by and sometimes I still can't believe that we are actually going to have a baby in a few months! I have been trying to get some stuff cleared out to get started on the baby's room, we looked a some paint swatches this weekend and I could not keep myself away from the pinks....because now when I tell people we think we are having a boy, people are telling me "no, it will be the opposite!" So, I am trying to prepare for either way...I am anxiously awaiting 2/2/09 and then soon after a trip to visit my sis in Pittsburgh with my mom. It will be so fun to spend time with them together and be able to shop for a boy or girl! Still feeling the same type of twinges in my belly, but still waiting for the first big KICK!

Here is the info from the bump for week 17:

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints.

Splitting Time

So, this month is wayyyy more busy than last month was. I don't have time to sit down to think. I need to get organized. I'm trying to get all of my work done every day but when I'm by myself, it's tough.

I really want to get my license information done so I can try to moonlight to build up the savings before little Neri arrives. *I* am also excited to find out the sex on the next OB appointment. I've got my work cut out for me in the guest room/nursery. We need to pick out a color for the walls so I can paint. Also, if anyone has tips/wants to help/do crown molding in the room - let me know! With my schedule, I could use the help (not to mention the fact that when it comes to home improvement, I'm generally horrible at it).

Anyway, gotta go so I can get some sleep before I give a morning report tomorrow.

Still no baby bump!

So, still no baby bump on this belly. I thought that getting close to 16 weeks something would pop, but not yet! I am still hopeful for something to show off by 18 weeks.

Other big news, we scheduled our BIG ultrasound to find out if Neri is a Kari or a Neal! (i.e. a boy or girl)! It will be 2/2/08, we (mostly *I* can't wait)! I have a feeling that this will open the shopping floodgates. I have been doing a really good job of restraining myself, no help from my mom or sister but I think as soon as I know boy or girl, I will be shopping for him/her like crazy!

We are still thinking its a boy and we have come up with a few more top name choices: Brennen is our top new fav, along with Parker, Conner and of course we still like Ethan. As for a girl, we are pretty set on Blakely or possibly Lila.

Other exciting news, I *think* I *might* have felt the baby kick or hit, but I can't be SURE! Just felt like a bubble popping or something, felt it a couple of times yesterday and then once today while driving both times. Or...it could be gas! haha!

Our BIG News!

We are going to have a little baby Anson! Or a Neri (neal + kari) as we like to call him/her! We are so excited and can't be more thrilled for the experiences to come. The holidays were so fun celebrating with our families and thinking that next year we will be celebrating with a baby!

Here is the info from The Bump for week 15:

Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements.
