New House!

We bought a new house up in Liberty! We are so excited for more space and to be closer to Neal's work though sad to leave Prairie Village. The house we bought is still under construction so we were able to make some of the final choices for colors, stone, granite, stain, etc...and we have about one week to do it! Decisions, decisions...

Here is the house when we bought it.

Some of our choices for carpet, kitchen granite and cabinet stain.

Neal's Birthday 2012

Neal had to go in and round on his 31st birthday but we were able to celebrate that afternoon and evening when he got home. He ended up having to go in early in the morning when he was on call and worked with a family that had just had a new little baby and they were excited when Neal told the family that the baby and him shared a bday!

Back at home, Blakely helped make Daddy cupcakes and put sprinkles on them.

Concentrating so hard to get them just right!

Gifts and cupcakes for Neal when he came home.

We sang Happy Birthday!

Then Blakely helped him blow out a candle.

Blakely picked out this card for Neal!

She liked the cupcakes or actually just the frosting. She licks all the frosting off the top and that is pretty much all she eats. haha.

New watch for Neal.

Out to dinner at Oklahoma Joe's with the families. Had to wait in a long line and fight to find a table but it was worth it! Yummy!

"Posing" for a picture.

After dinner at home we took pictures with Amelia to see who she looks more like? Don't know for sure but think I win but she does look more like Neal than Blakely does!

Amelia 2 months!

Our little baby is getting so big! She is a ray of sunshine, always making us smile and lights up our life.

Here are her stats from her 2 month appointment:
Weight 12 lbs. 10.4 oz. (95%)
Height 22 inches (50%)
Head Circumference 15 in (50%)

She got her 1st round of shots and did so well! She cried for just a second or so and then was back to normal, happy self!

She is the happiest baby, smiles and talks to us all the time! We are busy busy and she just goes with us in her car seat and does so well. We will take her to church, restaurants and she will take naps. Sometimes we forget she's in there...haha! She loves her playmat and looking at the lights and music. She does well at tummy time and holds her head up and has started to push up with her hands. She has also started to push down with her legs when we hold her up.

Amelia wears size 0-3 but they are starting to get a little tight. She is wearing a size 2 diaper but can still wear a size 1 too. She is sleeping well, sometimes she sleeps all through the night and other times she is up around 2 or 3am but usually goes right back to sleep after nursing. She is still sleeping in her cradle in our room. She is awake more and more during the day and is interacting with us and Blakely much more. She will just stare and smile at Blakely when she talks to her, she loves her big sister!

She still looks a lot like Blakely as a baby. She is not on much of a schedule yet but usually takes a morning and afternoon nap and eats every 3 hours or so...She takes bottles great and is a star burper! She doesn't spit up at all...I remember that Blakely spit up so much! She also really likes bath time. She will track objects with her eyes and likes to look at black/white books/pictures. She also will try and grasp rattles or objects with her hands. But she really prefers to look at FACES especially mommy's, daddy's or Blakely's!

Tummy time!

Mommy Blakely

Blakely has really been into playing with her baby doll's especially since Amelia arrived! One morning I had Amelia on a blanket for playtime and Blakely put her baby doll next to her. She is so loving towards Amelia and her baby doll's too! She is such a little Mommy to her dolls - holding them, rocking them, changing their diapers, feeding them and giving them lots of hugs and kisses!

We played on the floor and got out some rattles.

Then she read the babies some stories! Blakely is so tender, gentle and kind hearted with Amelia and her little baby doll's! I love watching how she interacts and learns...it's amazing to me! She is a little sponge, soaking it all up.

Trip to Iowa

About a month or so ago we headed up to Iowa to spend the afternoon with my mom's side of the family. Lots of cousins, great cousins and aunts and uncles that we don't get to see very often. It was nice to see everyone and Blakely had fun playing with my cousin's kids.

Stopped at Subway for lunch halfway there. Blakely looked like such a big girl sitting all by herself in the booth.

Nannie, Aunt Mary (my mom's sister) and Blakely.

My cousins daughter Ellie holding Amelia. She was so proud of herself, so cute!

We got the girls matching outfits for Christmas! Blakely loves to be "twinsies" with her sister. Here are some pictures before Neal and I took both girls out to eat for the first time by ourselves!

Taking a picture together.

All dolled up with cute shoes too!

Loving on her sister.

She ADORES Neal.

Amelia was perfect and slept all through dinner.

Got home and read stories before bed.

Baby in one hand and a book in the other reading to Blakely! Multitasking with two kiddos in the new norm.

She is so cute!
