Week 39!

Here is the info from babycenter.com for week 39: Your baby's waiting to greet the world! She continues to build a layer of fat to help control her body temperature after birth, but it's likely she already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of her skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.

Wow! 39 weeks, we are so READY to meet our baby girl! Can't wait....

38 weeks and a poll!

Here is the info from babycenter.com for week 38: Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb. Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old.

Here is my week 38 bump pic, no make-up and it is HOT today so I am lookin pretty rough...

Also, we added a poll to guess Blakely's arrival date/time on the right side of the blog, so go get your guesses in! We have a middle name: Paige! So, that is one less decision to make! Things are moving along so quickly, I can't believe I am days away from meeting our little girl. We were looking at baby pictures of Neal and he had a lot of hair and bright blue eyes, so that must be where she is getting that hair from because I was bald...

Doctor's appointment on Monday went well, Doctor thinks that I will go all the way to my induction date. During the the NST I was having contractions but once I was there a while they slowed down...so I guess I need to get up and get moving! Only one more doctor's appointment until the induction!!!!

Nursery update, added a "B" decal above her bed, it is sorta hard to see in the picture but it looks good in person!

Full term! 37 weeks!

Here is the info from the bump.com for week 37: At week 37, your pregnancy is considered full term, meaning baby is likely to thrive after birth. Baby spends these last weeks in preparation for the outside world… meaning careful refinement of the blink, suck, inhale and exhale. Meconium, which you’ll probably find in the first diaper, is accumulating in the intestines. If (okay, as) you worry about giving birth, consider what it’s like for the little one. During the journey out of your womb, baby will produce more stress hormones than any other time in life.

Posing for the bump pic! Yes, it does look like a watermelon in there...yikes! Dr's appointments are going well, baby is doing great! Neal has vacation next week, which will be nice to have some company at home...and a nice break for him to catch up on his sleep before the baby comes! Not too many changes from last week, still a lot of backaches and all that...at our growth sono last Friday she was in the 90% and weighed approx. 7lbs, so we are looking at a 8.5-9 lb. baby at 40 weeks! Still has a head full of hair and big lips and chubby cheeks! We are getting pretty excited to meet her, hold her and just have her here!

Week 36/Work Shower/Poker Diaper Daddy Night!

Here is the info from babycenter.com for week 36: Your baby is gaining about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy hair that covered her body, as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Next week, your baby will be considered full-term.

Things are moving right along, having the induction scheduled makes it feel pretty real! Had my work shower today. It was so nice to see everyone but if felt sorta weird to be up there and not be working! Now all our showers are done and we can go grab any other extra things we need to get all ready for her. Had our last labor class tonight, it really feels like things are winding down...and we are "ready" for our precious baby! Still feeling okay, just the usual backaches, heartburn stuff, some days are worse than others and getting comfortable at night is a pretty big challenge! She is still moving quite a bit and we are beginning to be able to see a routine with her movements and sleeping, don't know if it will be the same on the outside but we shall see...

36 week bump!

Cake and cookies from work shower...yummy!

Lots of nice and generous gifts!

Here is Neal with his stash of diapers from the diaper poker night/daddy shower! He had a great time and came in 2nd!!!
