It's getting pretty pink around here...

Week 21!Here is the info from the bump for week 21:

Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies are most interested in tastes they've already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you want your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.

Guess I better start being more careful what I eat, so the baby likes veggies and not just sugar when she is growing up!

I had one of my first big pregnancy brain happenings last night, I got out the DIBS ice cream and had a few and put them away and then this morning I saw them sitting on TOP of the fridge instead of in the freezer, oops!

Got back on Monday from Pittsburgh from visiting Kandace, Matthew & Hudson and had a great time! The baby got really active on the flights, she either hated flying or loved it? Who knows...
Here are my Valentine's flowers from Neal, I really wanted the fruit kind instead of the real flowers this year!

I forgot to put this up last week but I thought that it was funny, took a picture with the fruit that they compared to the baby's size, yikes...I think a banana is smaller than a cantaloupe?
And without further ado...here is Blakely's nursery all painted a pretty pink! Thanks for all who helped Neal work on it, it looks amazing!

Wow! Halfway there!!!! 20 weeks!

Here is the info from the bump for week 20:

Baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth. And, speaking of the diaper situation... baby's genitals are now fully formed!

I can't believe I am halfway through this pregnancy! Starting to feel her a ton more, which is so nice and reassuring! The baby bump is rounding out and getting more firm. I still don't think people that don't know me can tell I am pregnant yet, even though I feel like it is pretty obvious...haha!

Someone is here right now, working on her room and I think it will get painted this weekend while I am out of town in Pittsburgh, PA! Still need to pick the "perfect" color, we have three choices in the running....Neal thinks they all look the same! Pics to come soon....

Which we are pretty sure she will be. haha!
Some precious clothes from her Grandma and Grandpa Anson!

A cute dress with a sweater! Love the polka dots...

A cute pink and brown striped onsie...can't have too many....

A cute outfit for next summer (12 mos) from her Grandma Karel!

Another cute summer outfits for next year (12 mos)! I can just picture her toddling around in it!
A cute onsie with pink cargo pants!
Love this summer dress....seems like I like polka dots a "little" bit!

And the cute bottoms...makes the outfit!

Here is a cute outfit that Neal picked out all on his own, a cute hat with bear ears and the adorable footsies bears!

Another cute onsie that Neal picked out for me! So sweet!
Another daddy outfit!

Well, I think that I am on a shopping hiatus (got it out of my system) except for when I am in Pittsburgh visiting my sister! haha!
Now we are focusing on getting her room started, it is pretty much cleaned out and we have been getting estimates for crown moulding and wainscoting and picking out the "perfect" pink paint color! Room updates to come as they happen.....

Added a new poll

We just added a poll for Blakely's middle name, we are struggling with deciding on it and I want to get started with the monogramming! haha! We are 100% sure on Blakely but having trouble finding a good middle name to go along with it, so vote or submit your suggestions.

Pics of baby gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Anson and a recent shopping trip this weekend coming soon....

OB Appt. Update

So, we had our OB appointment today. Everything was good, my blood pressure was normal and I am up a few more lbs....then the Dr. gave us more information about the sonogram from last week. She said that the baby looked great, measured in the 60%, weighed about 1/2 pound and all her measurements were right on track and confirmed that she was indeed a SHE! Our due date is actually July 1st!

We heard the heartbeat and it was 150 and right when the Dr. put the doppler on my belly our baby girl kicked the doppler and was moving all around, so she had to move it a couple of times to get the heartbeat! It was pretty funny! Neal has been able to feel her kick the past few nights, I think she is totally going to be a daddy's girl, she already does exactly what he tells her to!

Week 19

Here is the info from baby center for week 19:

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

I have been feeling good this past week, I have been trying to get more sleep and I think that helps! Definitely, can tell that she likes hanging out of the right side of my stomach, it slopes that way and I feel a lot of the pops/bumps on that side! We have been getting to work on her room, a little bit at a time, moved some furniture in there when we put up our new dresser, still waiting on the crib, we should pick it up next week!

And for all you bump stalkers out there (aka Kandace) here is a picture of my from this morning, getting harder to take the pictures by myself, I will have to enlist Neal's help soon. Getting rounder and rounder....

Our baby girl's first shopping spree!

Well, as soon as Neal and I found out about our little baby girl, we headed to the mall for her first shopping spree to pick out an outfit! Neal was so cute telling the saleslady all about our little girl! We both could NOT stop smiling, we are so excited to have our baby girl. I can't wait to meet her.
Her cute summer dress that we picked out for her!
Here are a couple pictures of the other outfits that we found for her, a bathing suit, a cute onsie that says "natural beauty," another onsie that says "tiny tadpole" with some green cargo pants! Can't wait to dress her up in the outfits!

Here are some sheets that we found that we like! Just to have extras around for oopsies!
Below are gifts from generous family members, she is going to be so spoiled!

From her Uncle Greg and Aunt Brandi, this precious dress!

From her Grandparents H. (yikes that sounds like my grandparents name!), a sundress with a sunhat, perfect for this summer.

From her Aunt Kandace and Uncle Matthew a warm winter snuggle suit, I can't wait to snuggle her up in this!

And then another onsie from her Aunt Kandace and Uncle Matthew! Love it!
Here are a couple more of Neal's B-day gifts that I found the pictures for!

Here is a charger station from my parents, it has been great at keeping us organized and now Neal does not wake me up at 5am asking "have you seen my cell phone?"

Here is a "gag" gift from Brandi and Greg for baby!

Here is Neal's diaper bag (aka manpurse), lookin good sweetie! My baby girl has got to travel in style with her daddy!

Birthday!

Well, I had a great 28th birthday on Wednesday. I received the best gift ever by getting to find out we are having a girl! It was an amazing experience to see her moving around on the ultrasound. Her little hands and feet were so awesome and when we found out she is a girl - words can't describe the feelings I had inside me.
And then we went to Minsky's for pizza, beer and KU basketball. We squeaked by Nebraska...
Kari made an awesome cake as you've already probably read about in the previous post. Here are some pictures of my awesome gifts!

Lindsay got me these Doctor bookends - nice gift!

Mammaw was thoughtful with this book - I love "The Expectant Father" and this is by the same author!

The family went in together to get me this awesome TomTom GPS for my car - now I'll never get lost, right?

Unfortunately we didn't get pics of all the gifts but everyone was soooo generous! Thank you all sooo much!
