15 Months!

Look at that precious face and smile. We could not love her more...she is an absolute joy and such a source of happiness for our family. She amazes us over and over again and we just love her beyond words!

Watching her learn new things and begin to communicate more and more has been such an incredible and wonderful thing to share.

Wow...where to even start with her 15 month recap?

I don't even know where to begin with EVERYTHING that Blakely is doing now! I feel like overnight my baby girl turned into a TODDLER!
  • Blakely is wearing size 18-24 months (sometimes I try to squeeze her into some 12-18months things to get "one more" wear out of them because she looks so adorable in her outfits! She wears size 5 or 6 in her shoes and weighs around 26 pounds.
  • She goes to sleep around 7 or 7:30 and has been sleeping till 8 or 8:30 in the morning!!!! She always wakes up so happy and smiling. When we go to get her out of the crib she laughs and dives into a corner of the crib, then pops up, bouncing all around and then reaches her arms up for us! She has to have her lovie to sleep and we are still using the paci but we are going to try and start weaning her from that - but it's going to be hard!
  • She still takes 2 naps at home but only 1 at daycare and it works out good so far!
  • Blakely is still a good eater and usually eats pretty much anything! She loves cheese, turkey, tofu "dogs," crackers, any type of fruit, waffles, eggs, french toast (her new favorite!), chicken, pasta and ?
  • She is saying LOTS of words or at least trying to! She says Tucker, Mama, Daddy, Please, Cracker, Shoes, Socks, Chalk, What's that? and Hi!
  • With chalk, she says "Chock" when she wants to go outside and draw on the sidewalk with her sidewalk chalk.
  • Also, when she sees things around she says repeatedly "What's that?" but it sounds like Wha-Tha?
  • She also nods her head yes or no if we ask her questions.
  • She waves bye-bye and blows kisses when we leaving or someone is leaving her. She even does this at the store when we walk by someone - as we get further away! ha!
  • She also say hi to EVERYONE!
  • Blakely points to her eyes, nose, mouth and will point to them on our faces too!
  • She dancing to music all the time either bouncing up and down or leaning side to side - it's adorable!
  • She signs more, eat and please.
  • She shows us her belly button or tummy often! We will say "Blakely where's your belly button?" and she lifts up her shirt and pokes her belly button.
  • When Neal and I came back from Cabo she was doing the motions to the Hokey Pokey when you sing it like putting her foot in and turning all around.
  • She will follow simples requests, such as "Get your shoes" or "Bring the phone here."
  • She has her two front teeth coming and still just the 2 front on the bottom.
  • I went to pick her up from daycare one day and they were outside playing. Blakely did not see me right away so I just sorta stood back and watched her, she climbed up the play slide and went down it ALL BY HERSELF! I was freaking out, I was so proud of her! So, I went home and found a used slide on craigslist so we could do this at home and she absolutely loves the slide. Pretty much anytime we go anywhere we have to slide before we leave or when we get home because the slide is right by the cars and she says "slide" over and over!
  • At home diaper changes are nightmares, she just does not want to lay down while we change her diaper, she is all over the place, kicking her legs, flipping over, screaming - its pretty much awful! Hopefully this phase will pass, I try everything from giving her special toys to singing to standing her up but still the screaming and once we are all done she is just fine. I think she just does not want to take a break and be still for even a few minutes because she is so busy!
  • Sometimes she goes around the house, roaring like a lion especially if she sees her lion bib.
  • Also, she is going to be Pebbles for Halloween and we have been practicing "dabadabado!" and she gets out "abba-do." ha!
  • She gives lots of hugs and kisses - my absolute favorite is when she runs into my arms for a hug and I also love her sweet baby kisses.
  • Sometimes she shrugs her shoulders and holds up her arms when I say "I don't know" or "Where is it?"
  • She is just so funny and entertaining. She is into everything and all over the place. She is starting to figure out how to get her way with use of the "fake" tears and crying - it usually gets us every time! She loves playing with her toys in her room or in the family room and loves to be outside. We have so much fun!
