From the the bump: Weeks 21-24 (Month 5): Papaya. Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. The little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop.Wednesday, March 4, 2009

It's getting pretty pink around here...
Week 21!
Here is the info from the bump for week 21:
Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies are most interested in tastes they've already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you want your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.

Guess I better start being more careful what I eat, so the baby likes veggies and not just sugar when she is growing up!
I had one of my first big pregnancy brain happenings last night, I got out the DIBS ice cream and had a few and put them away and then this morning I saw them sitting on TOP of the fridge instead of in the freezer, oops!
Got back on Monday from Pittsburgh from visiting Kandace, Matthew & Hudson and had a great time! The baby got really active on the flights, she either hated flying or loved it? Who knows... Here are my Valentine's flowers from Neal, I really wanted the fruit kind instead of the real flowers this year!

Wow! Halfway there!!!! 20 weeks!

Here is the info from the bump for week 20:
Baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth. And, speaking of the diaper situation... baby's genitals are now fully formed!
I can't believe I am halfway through this pregnancy! Starting to feel her a ton more, which is so nice and reassuring! The baby bump is rounding out and getting more firm. I still don't think people that don't know me can tell I am pregnant yet, even though I feel like it is pretty obvious...haha!
Someone is here right now, working on her room and I think it will get painted this weekend while I am out of town in Pittsburgh, PA! Still need to pick the "perfect" color, we have three choices in the running....Neal thinks they all look the same! Pics to come soon....

Somebody stop me!
Yikes! She already has so many outfits, but I can't help myself they are all so cute!
Here is one of my favorites (not so much one of Neal's). I just love the pink tulle!
Which we are pretty sure she will be. haha!
A cute dress with a sweater! Love the polka dots...
And the cute bottoms...makes the outfit!
Well, I think that I am on a shopping hiatus (got it out of my system) except for when I am in Pittsburgh visiting my sister! haha!
Now we are focusing on getting her room started, it is pretty much cleaned out and we have been getting estimates for crown moulding and wainscoting and picking out the "perfect" pink paint color! Room updates to come as they happen.....

Added a new poll
We just added a poll for Blakely's middle name, we are struggling with deciding on it and I want to get started with the monogramming! haha! We are 100% sure on Blakely but having trouble finding a good middle name to go along with it, so vote or submit your suggestions.
Pics of baby gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Anson and a recent shopping trip this weekend coming soon....

OB Appt. Update
So, we had our OB appointment today. Everything was good, my blood pressure was normal and I am up a few more lbs....then the Dr. gave us more information about the sonogram from last week. She said that the baby looked great, measured in the 60%, weighed about 1/2 pound and all her measurements were right on track and confirmed that she was indeed a SHE! Our due date is actually July 1st!
We heard the heartbeat and it was 150 and right when the Dr. put the doppler on my belly our baby girl kicked the doppler and was moving all around, so she had to move it a couple of times to get the heartbeat! It was pretty funny! Neal has been able to feel her kick the past few nights, I think she is totally going to be a daddy's girl, she already does exactly what he tells her to!

Week 19
Here is the info from baby center for week 19:Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
I have been feeling good this past week, I have been trying to get more sleep and I think that helps! Definitely, can tell that she likes hanging out of the right side of my stomach, it slopes that way and I feel a lot of the pops/bumps on that side! We have been getting to work on her room, a little bit at a time, moved some furniture in there when we put up our new dresser, still waiting on the crib, we should pick it up next week!
And for all you bump stalkers out there (aka Kandace) here is a picture of my from this morning, getting harder to take the pictures by myself, I will have to enlist Neal's help soon. Getting rounder and rounder....
